Biography

self portrait in a car park in cork, irelandI have been shooting seriously for the past seven years, both at home in the greater Boston area and further afield in my travels. I have done product photography for artists as well as promotional and live work for musical groups and clothing lines. My personal photography is largely documentary and an attempt to capture what I can of what seems important before the moment slips through my fingers.

Equipment

I'm on my third Canon AE1 (the first fell out of my bag and the shutter was broken in a way that it made more sense to get a new one than to fix it, and the second was stolen), which I feel is a perfectly serviceable, flexible, and (relatively) durable camera available for fairly cheap. I normally use a Canon 2.8 28mm lens, and a Vivitar 283 flash, usually with a sync cable. I am also starting to use a Canon Digital Rebel XT, and I have made use of a Cadet 4x5 view camera. I recently came into a Holga and several old polaroid cameras, which I'll hopefully get figured out and integrated into the stable soon.
